Prayer Focus for August:

Protecting Children from Human Trafficking

This month, we want to lift up in prayer the millions of children caught in the terrible trap of human trafficking. Many of these precious boys and girls are taken away from safety, exploited, and hidden from the world.

Here are some simple points to guide our prayers:

1. Pray for the rescue of children still trapped.
Ask God to guide the right people to find them and bring them to safety, stopping those who harm them.
Psalm 10:17-18 reminds us that the Lord hears the cries of the suffering and defends the helpless.

2. Pray for healing for every child who has been rescued.
Many carry deep wounds that are not visible. Pray that they will find people who love them and safe places to heal.
Jeremiah 30:17 promises that God will restore health and heal wounds.

3. Pray for justice to be swift and sure.

Pray that those who exploit children will be stopped and held accountable, and that no more children will suffer.
Proverbs 21:15 says that when justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous.

4. Pray that the Church will act boldly with courage and love.
God’s people are called to speak up and protect the vulnerable. Pray for wisdom and strength for the Church in this fight.
Isaiah 58:10 encourages us to serve the oppressed and bring light to the darkness.

Important Facts to Remember:
Nearly 4 in 10 victims of human trafficking are children.
Each year, over a million children worldwide are trafficked, mostly between ages 12 and 14.
Sadly, only a small fraction of victims are rescued and helped.
Human trafficking is a huge and profitable crime, but God’s power is greater.
Many rescued children face dangers of being caught again, showing how much more work is needed.
Let us pray with faith, trusting that God hears us and moves mightily for these little ones. Together, we can be His hands and voices in the dark places.
